Born To Be Free's Story - Pandemic Awakening

COVID essentially sent people in two directions. One camp was obedient. They didn’t ask questions. They listened to the “authorities.” The other camp knew something was off and began questioning everything. They wanted truth. This is the camp we fell into.

It became clear early on that we had to become sovereign individuals. We had to unlearn what we were taught and rebuild from the ground up. What started with understanding money led to where we source our food, and that ultimately led us to the ingredients in our skincare.

Here at Born To Be Free, we’re paving the way to a non-toxic lifestyle, and it starts with your skincare. Just like money, food, government, medicine, and education, the skincare industry has not been spared from corruption, and we chose to push back. Born To Be Free became the physical expression of sovereignty in our daily lives.

“Big Skincare” is filled with endocrine-disrupting chemicals that interfere with hormones and overall health. If you cannot read the ingredients on your products, you should not be putting them on your skin. Your skin is your largest organ. It is not a barrier. It is a gateway. What you put on it is absorbed and interacts with your body at a cellular level, with the potential to impact hormones, fertility, and long-term health.

We are living through a pivotal moment in history. We see it as our responsibility to help build a parallel structure rooted in transparency, intention, and truth. Born To Be Free is our parallel structure.

We’re John and Nadja, the husband and wife founders of Born To Be Free.

After getting married in 2022, we found ourselves deep in what many now call the “health rabbit hole.” Like many of you, the pandemic opened our eyes to how much we had blindly trusted. With the intention of building a family, we knew we needed to create a strong foundation rooted in health, wealth, and happiness.

The first step was eliminating chemicals.

As we ran out of the products we once trusted, we began rebuilding our routines from scratch using ingredients we understood, ingredients the body recognizes, and ingredients that actually serve a function.

As we researched what truly supports skin health, one ingredient stood above the rest. Grass fed beef tallow.

Tallow is not just a moisturizer. It is biologically compatible with human skin. Its fatty acid profile closely mirrors the composition of our own sebum, allowing it to absorb seamlessly without clogging pores or disrupting the skin’s natural balance.

It is rich in saturated and monounsaturated fats like oleic, stearic, and palmitic acid, which play a direct role in strengthening the skin barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss, and maintaining structural integrity of the skin.

Tallow also contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K in their natural forms. These nutrients support skin cell turnover, repair damaged tissue, improve elasticity, and protect against oxidative stress.

Instead of sitting on top of the skin like petroleum-based products, tallow works with the skin. It supports the stratum corneum, restores barrier function, and improves the skin’s ability to retain moisture and defend itself.

This is why so many people see real improvements in conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and general inflammation when they switch to tallow-based products.

Fascinated by what we had learned, we went to a local butcher, sourced beef fat, rendered it down into tallow, and got to work.

What started as a personal solution quickly became a passion. We began creating products that reflected everything we believed in. Clean. Intentional. Effective.

At first, it was just for us. Then for friends and family. The response was immediate. People noticed the difference. They felt the difference.

That was our moment.

We realized this wasn’t just something we needed. It was something others were searching for too.

And that’s how Born To Be Free was born.

At Born To Be Free, our vision is to become a global brand serving like-minded individuals around the world. While the American flag is embedded in our logo, what we stand for goes far beyond geography.

The values this country was founded on still matter. Liberty. Self-governance. Individual responsibility. These principles are at the core of everything we do.

Today, much of that has been lost. But we believe it can be rebuilt.

Not through dependence, but through sovereignty.

We are all born free.

Freedom is the ability to think for yourself. To take responsibility for your health. To become as self-sufficient as possible. To say yes to what you want and more importantly, no to what doesn’t serve you.

It’s choosing real food over processed convenience. Building relationships with local farmers and ranchers. Living in alignment with nature. Moving your body. Getting sunlight. Grounding yourself.

Freedom is not passive. It requires action.

It shows up in your health. It shows up in your finances. It shows up in your daily choices.

You don’t rely on medication to get through the day.

You don’t rely on systems to survive.

You take ownership.

Freedom is health.

Freedom is wealth.

Freedom is responsibility.

And true happiness is found in being free.

What does freedom mean to you?
